Acts 16:6-10

In the opening message of our Stuff You’ve Googled series, When God Closes a Door, He Opens a Window, we explored one of the most common Christian clichés and asked whether it actually reflects the heart of Scripture. While the phrase can sound comforting, we discovered that following Jesus is not primarily about searching for the next open door—it’s about learning to trust God even when we don’t understand what He is doing.

Looking at the story of Paul’s attempted evangelism in Acts 16, this sermon reminded us that sometimes closed doors can become places where our trust deepens, our character is formed, and our understanding of God grows. Even when we cannot yet see what He is doing, we can trust that He has not abandoned us.
