In the second week of our Under His Wings series, Provided, we turn to Ruth 2, where the story begins to shift from emptiness toward hope. As Ruth goes out to gather grain to provide for herself and Naomi, she finds herself in the field of a man named Boaz. What appears to be an ordinary encounter becomes a beautiful picture of God's quiet provision, revealed through the kindness, generosity, and faithfulness of others.
This sermon invited us to recognize that God's provision doesn't always arrive in dramatic or miraculous ways. Sometimes it comes through ordinary people choosing to show extraordinary kindness. Through Ruth and Boaz, we discover the beauty of hesed—God's steadfast, faithful love—and how He invites us not only to receive that love, but to become an expression of it in the lives of others. Wherever we find ourselves, we can trust that God is at work, and that even our ordinary acts of kindness can become part of His extraordinary provision.
