In this message from The Shepherd series, we explored God as Jehovah Maooz—the Lord our refuge. Drawing from Psalm 23, we were reminded that the Shepherd does not only guide us forward, but also provides a place of safety when we feel threatened, overwhelmed, or weary. God is not a distant shelter we run toward—He is a present refuge who surrounds and sustains us.
This sermon invited us to consider where we turn when life feels unstable. Rather than relying on our own defenses or coping mechanisms, we are called to rest in the Shepherd who is steady, faithful, and strong. In every season, God Himself is our refuge.
