In December, Hillside Church was approached by Steve Falkiner, President of The Foursquare Gospel Church of Canada, with a unique opportunity. Due to temporary visa complications in the United States, Pastor Cyrille and his family needed to leave the country and were exploring the possibility of coming to Canada. After several conversations and times of prayer together, Cyrille and his family felt that God was leading them to Airdrie and to become part of the Hillside Church family. In a remarkable provision, Cyrille’s salary will continue to be supported by his home church, allowing him to serve as part of our pastoral team here at Hillside at no cost to our church. All of the immigration and visa arrangements have now been finalized, and Cyrille and his family are scheduled to arrive in Airdrie on March 31, with his first Sunday with us planned for Easter Sunday, April 5.
Cyrille and his wife Delphine were married in 2012. Delphine holds a Master’s degree in Law, and together they are raising their three children—Samuel-Aimé (12), Raphaëlle (10), and Grace (6). As a family they share a deep love for Jesus and a heart to serve wherever God leads them.
Pastor Cyrille Zunon was born in Lopou (Dabou), Côte d’Ivoire. In 2000 he sensed a clear call from the Lord to serve in ministry and has faithfully pursued that calling ever since. Cyrille received pastoral training at LIFE Biblical School in Abidjan and began serving within the Foursquare Church in a variety of roles including pastoral training, assistant pastoral ministry, and national leadership responsibilities. In 2014 he was formally consecrated as a pastor, and in 2017 he became the Senior Pastor of Mahanaïm Foursquare Church in Abidjan, where he helped establish and lead a growing congregation. More recently he has been serving the French-speaking community in the Denver area, helping build a church for French-speaking believers while continuing his passion for mentoring and encouraging others in their walk with Jesus.
As we get closer to their arrival, we will share more information about ways we can support Cyrille and his family as they settle into life here in Airdrie. We are grateful for the way God has brought our paths together and look forward to welcoming Cyrille, Delphine, Samuel-Aimé, Raphaëlle, and Grace into the Hillside family in the weeks ahead.
